Reader’s Question:
I just bought a new Honda Accord. Should I also consider buying an extended vehicle warranty service on it?

Definitely consider getting an extended vehicle warranty contract or plan if you plan to keep that new vehicle for a long time (i.e. Five years or more.) You just never know when your vehicle might break down. If that happens to occur beyond the factory warranty period then you are looking at thousands of dollars of possible expenses for getting your vehicle repaired.
A good extended vehicle warranty has many benefits; one of the best is that it covers for mechanical failure and wear and tear. If something breaks and needs repair and replacement, the vehicle warranty can take care of it with minimal or even no expense to you. Also, you should know that maintenance costs for any type of vehicle becomes more expensive over the lifetime of the car. Extended vehicle warranties can definitely keep the costs of maintaining your car at an affordable level.
Another great thing about extended vehicle warranty plans is that it covers for other parts of your vehicle, namely: expensive and high-end devices in your car such as DVD players, computers, and state-of-the-art sound systems. Also, if ever your vehicle breaks down this kind of vehicle warranty can compensate you for rental costs, towing services, and other travel expenses while your vehicle is in for repairs.
When you buy an extended vehicle warranty plan you’re not just giving yourself financial protection, you’re also getting the peace of mind knowing that you have full-support in the event that your vehicle suddenly breaks down.

Reader’s Question:
I need to get vehicle insurance cover here for my car here in Idaho, how do I know I’m getting the right one?
Cesar
Boise, ID
Good question! It is very important for us to know how to tell if we are picking the right kind of insurance coverage. Although selecting the right kind of vehicle insurance for your car there in Idaho does not involve rocket science, you are advised to treat this matter with utmost care. Getting the wrong kind of policy would mean hundreds of dollars lost annually, or worse, you might end up with a totally different vehicle insurance coverage from what you expected. So here are some effective guidelines to help you out:
1.Never rush into a policy. There is no need to jump into the very first policy that you find (regardless of what any insurance agent or broker tell you). Shop around and know your options.
2.Begin your search for the most affordable vehicle insurance cover policy on the Internet. The Web is both a great resource and tool for anyone interested in getting the best car insurance rates. There are tons of car insurance portals (just like this website) where you can run free insurance quote checks and compare rates from many different companies.
3.Understand what your needs are when it comes to vehicle insurance coverage. The right policy must have at least the minimum required liability insurance levels by your state. Also get enough collision and comprehensive to cover the total market value of your vehicle.
4.The right kind of policy would have generous discount options that you can check to see which one’s you’re eligible to receive. Always ask about discounts before accepting a policy.

Reader’s Question:
I bought my vehicle some years ago here in Michigan, and the manufacturer’s warranty is still in effect. Now I have a question. If the original manufacturer’s warranty of my vehicle hasn’t expired yet, is there any reason why I should avail of extended vehicle warranty right now?
Cris
Ann Arbor, MI
If you think about it, it is really still up to you to purchase your extended vehicle warranty now or later. But I just have to say that it is going to be a great advantage on your part if you avail of an extended vehicle warranty right now. Why?
This is because extended vehicle warranty functions in the same manner as life insurance when it comes to pricing. In a life insurance policy, the older the person is, the higher the price of the life insurance policy. On the matter of extended vehicle warranty, as your car gets older and gets more mileage, the tendency of the price of the extended vehicle warranty is to go up.
And since the basic factory warranty of your vehicle has not expired yet, you can further cut costs with your extended vehicle warranty. You see, the more coverage there is that you have left in your manufacturer’s warranty, the less you shall have to pay for the extended vehicle warranty.
Furthermore, you can also buy extended vehicle warranty that is transferrable. This raises the resale value of your vehicle since no one wants a vehicle that is not protected against repair costs.
Another thing is that you can never be too sure with the prices of repairs and labor in the future. Yes, prices my go low in the future, but there is also a fifty-fifty chance that they would go up. So, it is better to just purchase one now with the current prices.
Just check out auto warranty companies for some quotes. This service is actually for free. Or contact vehicle warranty providers there in Michigan.

Reader Question I just bought a new Chrysler Sebring last week and a friend of mine told me to get an extended auto warranty on it because their maintenance record is very poor. He told me about a website called carpulse.com but I am not real sure what they do or how they sell contracts or maintenance programs.

Car dealer warranty exclusions are printed in the policy book which conveniently arrives AFTER you buy your Chrysler, because they don’t want you to dig. The more you dig, the more you’ll find. CarPulse takes the mystery out of purchasing a vehicle service contract with the information provided below. Cars do break down, and they will always break down. An extended warranty can protect consumers against the unexpected high costs involved with diagnosing and repairing a vehicle.
