Extended Vehicle Warranty Michigan MI
December 13th, 2008
Reader’s Question:
I bought my vehicle some years ago here in Michigan, and the manufacturer’s warranty is still in effect. Now I have a question. If the original manufacturer’s warranty of my vehicle hasn’t expired yet, is there any reason why I should avail of extended vehicle warranty right now?

If you think about it, it is really still up to you to purchase your extended vehicle warranty now or later. But I just have to say that it is going to be a great advantage on your part if you avail of an extended vehicle warranty right now. Why?
This is because extended vehicle warranty functions in the same manner as life insurance when it comes to pricing. In a life insurance policy, the older the person is, the higher the price of the life insurance policy. On the matter of extended vehicle warranty, as your car gets older and gets more mileage, the tendency of the price of the extended vehicle warranty is to go up.
And since the basic factory warranty of your vehicle has not expired yet, you can further cut costs with your extended vehicle warranty. You see, the more coverage there is that you have left in your manufacturer’s warranty, the less you shall have to pay for the extended vehicle warranty.
Furthermore, you can also buy extended vehicle warranty that is transferrable. This raises the resale value of your vehicle since no one wants a vehicle that is not protected against repair costs.
Another thing is that you can never be too sure with the prices of repairs and labor in the future. Yes, prices my go low in the future, but there is also a fifty-fifty chance that they would go up. So, it is better to just purchase one now with the current prices.
